During law school, Lauren worked as a law clerk at Southern Legal Counsel, an intern at the Office of the State Attorney’s Eighth Judicial Circuit, and also as an extern for the Hon. Susan Miller-Jones. Additionally, Lauren displayed great leadership talent as the president of the Association for Public Interest Law and the Jewish Law Students Association. Further, Lauren also served as an articles editor for the Florida Journal of International Law and the Journal of Law and Public Policy, and well as a research assistant for UF Law Professor Jonathan R. Cohen.
Lauren has a heart for advocacy and frequently participates in pro bono and community projects on behalf of marginalized groups.
Lauren proudly considers herself multi-ethnic and enjoys the diversity of a multicultural family extending from Jamaica and the Caribbean to the Middle East and the U.K. She understands what it means to be down-trodden and brings to the table a global perspective and passion for immigrant and civil rights.
Lauren is also an accomplished writer. Several of her articles have been featured on The Huffington Post and The Times of Israel.
Lauren is proficient in Hebrew and considers the Summer she spent in Israel one of her defining life moments.
